Straight to the point because I still suck with intros (pls help).
The reason why most creators don’t monetize what they’re passionate about is they focus on brand-building more than business-building itself.
AKA not actually turning their passion into an offer that people will love to buy from you.
And I’ve experienced the same thing for the first 5 months of being a creator on X.
I was solely focused on the notion of content creation and brand-building as a “personal-brander” (whatever you call it lol).
I was also offering free calls but didn’t know how to actually package my service into something high-paying.
Now this is me making my first dollars recently through my passion and i can’t lie, it’s the most cathartic thing ever, and I know everyone can experience this for themselves.
THIS ISN’T MUCH (& if i’d be authentic with you, I undercharged for a program too) but i know this was just the start.
And just for some expectation building, you won’t expect to make a lot of money the first time you monetize your passion - but it’s really just about getting yourself out there and “throwing shit on the wall until it sticks” as many people would say.
You can trust me or not.
I’m seriously just a creator fucking around at the end of the day.
So it’s up to you.
I’m here to only write to people that are only 1 small step behind me.
Align business over brand Before I get onto step-by-step advice here, I’ll need to set you a foundational philosophy on how you’ll monetize yourself.
I’ve mentioned this earlier but the reality is, most creators focus on brand-building over business-building.
And perhaps this may be you.
1 - You heavily focus on the notion of “I need 1000 followers to monetize”
You chase the social-media metrics for the first few months of being a creator - in “hopes” that you’ll then be able to monetize.
Which I can’t blame you for.
Many creators are brainwashed to chase numbers when they see other creators having a LOT of them.
They tell you to “never chase numbers,” yet your behaviour has been unconsciously created to do anything to “chase numbers.”
You’re an observational creature after all that imitates what they see (you don’t have that much free-will as you think, yet).
Which will explain the reason why you are losing the meaning and fulfillment that you had before as a creator (you’re sacrificing your authenticity & values to attract a bigger audience).
2 - Or perhaps you’re just waiting until you get this “green-light” to finally have the permission to monetize what you love.
Or instead, you just create content and brand-build in the mean time.
Being in this utterly clueless and stuck phase of not knowing how to monetize your passion.
Whatever situation, just to be blunt - the path that you’re taking probably won’t end well.
You’ll either just lose passion for the work you do and you’ll just burn-out because you hyper-focus on audience-growth and content-creation.
Or you won’t get the results (money) you were hoping to get and you just slowly dissolve the brand you’re building because you see none of it.
Whatever will happen, you’ll be led down wrong path.
So to never let that ever happen and before we get into any practical advice, you must align yourself with your business more than the brand.
I’m not saying you can’t attract a bigger audience or create the content you love.
But you’ll be focusing more on business-building instead of brand-building.
And through these step-by-step principles, you’ll do just that :)
Create your lite-offer Knowing thy dream-client Create your YOU-NIQUE offer So you’ll be able to build the business side of your brand.
And when you’ve taken care of 80% of that, you can start focusing on audience-building and making valuable/creative content.
Because the end of the day, your brand is the marketing vessel for your business.
So I won’t go molecularly-deep from A-Z to monetize your passion - it’ll just get too dense and this is just about being beginner friendly so you can get started and NOT OVERTHINK.
And also at the end of this newsletter, I’ll give you a free offer-creation template on how to do all of this as well.
Anyways let’s just get started 😛
Lite-offer: creating your free offer and serve others for free I was considering to skip this step but I’m going to assume there’s some monkeys in here that’s LATE to the party 🔪
Before you can expect to make money through your passion, you’ve gotta start working, especially for free.
This is where you’ll create your “lite-offer.”
Which will either be a:
free consultation or call free delivery work Which solves a specific enough problem for the market and for people to feel compelled enough to say “yes” to you for.
Your lite-offer will get you started with:
knowing “wtf” to offer gain experience with your craft get data of what people are struggling (pain) & data on what people want (dream-outcome) And will guide you to create your ICP (ideal-client-persona) and to also build on-top of your lite offer to create your paid-offer.
Some examples come to mind:
A free-consultation call with helping someone that specifically struggles with burn-out, stress, and lack of fulfillment. A free-delivery work as an X Ghost-writer that offers to write 6 tweets completely for free to get them more engagement & leads Or any free-work that has a low time-expense or effort compared to like a 3 month coaching or retainer.
But if you don’t even know where the hell start with an offer in the first place?
Ask yourself:
what’s a big pain that I’ve solved for myself in my life that I can help others solve? what are other people offering for free and for paid? what specific problems do i feel passionate about about solving? have i done enough market research to know what other specific problems people are solving with their offer? I’d whole-heartedly recommend doing a lot of step 4: researching other people’s offers to instantly get validated ideas on “what already works.”
And you’ll get a sense of what feels right to you as well - because it has to align with you.
But obviously you’ll need to get started and stop overthinking on what to offer in the first place.
Just get out there and starting guiding people :)
Magnetizing clients: easily find your first 10-15 free-clients So who and how the fuck do you start working for free?
The first method I’d do this is through “magnetic-outreach:”
find these people in your comment section or from similar account’s comments look at whose following you or who you follow look at similar accounts in your market or niche (or your friend’s): look at theirs posts with lots of engagements, look at their comment sections and you can scrape potential leads from there even ask your friends or any closer buddies in your circle to refer anyone to you The second method I’d also try is through “magnetic-inbound:”
start promoting your free-service under your posts, emails, etc. - you can have a call-to-action saying: “if you’re struggling with (pain-point) and want to start (desired-outcome) DM me ‘X’ for a free 45m call :)” you can make a post that promo your lit-offer that’s an “auto-DM” style to attract leads This is an example of an auto-dm-like post i’ve made a while ago and it literally blew up.
But heavily I recommend writing “dm me ‘X’” with a button link on the bottom to reduce friction and get into their DMs - instead what I did here.
So you’ve got both ways to start attracting leads and working for free.
And also you can STILL follow these methods if you’re trying to get traffic/leads into your paid-offer.
So start serving :)
Know your dream-client (ICP) Now that you’ve started doing your free work - this is where you’ll be taking:
the validated pains or struggles the validated deep-desires or dream-outcomes –that you’ve found within your first free-clients you’ve helped.
And start creating your ideal-client-persona.
Or I would say, your dream-client-persona (it sounds more magical than “ideal-client” 🤣)
And to be clear on what your dream-client-persona is, this is where you’ll be keeping track of your dream-client’s
specific struggles (pains) specific deep-desires (dream-outcome) specific current-state (where they are now) specific personality (psychographics) and much more… This is the specific person that you’ll be speaking & attracting to your content/message, brand, and offer.
And will give you all the information you need to create an actual validated paid-offer.
So to move forward here, I’ll be giving some quick short-tips on how to make sure you can create a good dream-client-persona.
And I won’t be copy/pasting this here as a X-long form so mfs will be missing out on more depth 🤣 - and this will save you a LOTTA TROUBLE.
So let’s begin.
Be specific with creating your dream-client-persona Make sure you specifically understand what their struggles are, what their desires are, and WHO THEY ARE through your market research.
Because the worse thing to do with your offer or service, let alone your brand is to appeal to everyone.
Because if you appeal to everyone, you’re appealing to no one.
You’re targeting people using a shotgun when you should be using a sniper.
You’ve positioned yourself in people’s minds as some generalist and broad problem solver.
The reality is people are looking for a person that can actually SPEAK TO THEM and their specific problems.
The worst thing is to have an offer, message, or angle that’s similar to most of the market place (or niche).
Plus the worst thing is also to work with someone that doesn’t truly align with you and your service.
So ALL IN ALL - be sure to be specific with who your dream-client is and what the obstacles they’re going through.
Make sure it is validated / research some more One of the biggest mistakes that I’ve made when it comes to creating my dream-client-persona is not validating it.
For example their specific pains and desires - yada yada.
In actuality, I was making inaccurate assumptions of what other people were going through.
Probably based on looking at my past-journey or what felt like it was right, but wasn’t.
And ended up needing to redo my ICP like 3 times 💀
So pls make sure most of your data in your dream-client-persona is validated.
Do more research on your market and perhaps even use Chat-GPT as well.
You can easily search up your market’s pain-points and their desired-outcomes.
You’ll get “broader” results and the info might not always be right, but it’s worth using to save a fuck ton of time.
Create your YOU-NIQUE OFFER I’ll admit, with my free-template at the end of this article will help you much more since it goes into depth more.
But the role for this newsletter is to give you a foundational understanding on each step of offer-creation.
Plus i’m looking for more excuses to write 🤣
So with that, let’s keep moving forward towards creating your offer.
Your YOU-NIQUE solution Before creating the actual offer, this step is where you’ll be brainstorming your step-by-step solution to take your client from point A to B.
And in this step, you’ll be taking your time here because:
you don’t want to offer something that you can’t deliver you want to understand how to communicate your solution To make sure you can make the promise and make sure you don’t offer something so goddamn generic.
So we’ll do this in these steps:
Outlining your solution Communicating your solution Let’s begin :P
Brainstorm & outline your solution (unique mechanism) This is where you’ll be outlining your A-Z system, curriculum, or step-by-step framework to get your dream-client from struggling to thriving.
And for tips to make this easier for you:
make sure every “step” progresses towards a transformation and it actually benefits your dream-client if you’re selling to yourself, deconstruct how you solved your problem, make an outline of that and refine it research or reference other people’s solutions that are in your market or niche add your own personal twists, use your unique values, or preferences to curate your solution (this’ll make your solution unique, to you) NAME your solution based on what your solution is (make it unique to you) Especially no.4, you’re not just trying to make a cookie-cutter solution, you’re making YOUR solution different.
And just sayin… this’ll take time.
Don’t think you can do this fast but don’t try to perfect it so much to the point you’re just twiddling ur thumbs.
Just get down the 80% of it - which will be enough to transform your dream-client.
For the last 20% of less will be left for your future iterations and refinements.
Start now, worry later.
Communicating your YOU-NIQUE solution This step will be about communicating the benefits of “why” your solution matters to your dream-client, how it is “different,” and how it will take them towards their dream-outcome.
And you’ll do this through understanding your unique-value-proposition, aka your “UVP”.
Your UVP is a statement of how you’ll communicate the unique benefits and value of your solution in a broad picture.
This will also help you understand “what makes you different” in the first place - opposed to all the generic offers you see 1000x times.
And when you dooo understand your UVP, you’ll be able to start positioning your offer and brand around that.
So let’s just start :P
Your unique-value-proposition - what makes your solution different from everyone else? ●
To understand your UVP, think of how your solution different from everyone else?
How is it unique to you?
What kind of kind of unique benefits or features does it have that your dream-client will find value in?
I’ll give some simpler examples so you aren’t sooo confused:
A UVP for bettering sleep: “I’ll transform not just your sleep and energy, but your quality of life and well-being” A UVP for monetizing your brand: “Build your unique own brand, in your own unique way.” A UVP for stress and mental-wellness: “No temporary solutions, only lasting results for a better life.” A UVP for fitness-coaches: “I don’t just build you physically, I build you spiritually” My examples here aren’t the best but you see how much of a difference this makes, compared to just the generic solutions people show in the market?
Just make sure your UVP aligns with:
what you value the name of your solution your personality Etc… so you can use that to “flip” the conventional and zag when everyone’s zigging.
And once you’ve figured your own UVP, you can:
reposition your brand message & brand-identity to your UVP refine your solution/framework to align with it more This is how you become different and this is how you’ll get people actually compelled to buy from you.
That is the way of you-niqueness.
Packaging your YOU-NIQUE Offer Phew 😅~ finally now you’ll be actually ready to package your paid-offer and make it as juicy as possible for your dream-client.
In the free-template you’ll get, I get into offer positioning but here, I’ll just get into the pricing and packaging of your offer.
And cuz again I’m lazy to type more lol and I just want to end this newsltter 😹
1 - Pricing your offer ●
Personally what helped me a lot is the method Alex Hormozi taught when it comes to pricing your offers for the first time.
You determine a high-ticket price for it (for ex: $1899) then give an 50% early-bird discount on it.
Then every client you land, you can minus the discount by 20%.
Then when discounts disappear, you can slightly increase the price further after you land more clients.
You can also use this as an opportunity of using urgency as well with the limited-time discount.
2 - Bonus-stacking ●
I lied, I’m not lazy - i’ll write more 😝
Another way to make your offer much more valuable is to slap as many bonuses as you can (of course that can help your dream-client).
They can be anything that’s an addition to the program:
a notion goal-tracker template marketing, copywriting, and sales e-books access to group-coaching Etc… anything in general you can add depending. Ofc depending on what you’re offering.
3 - Risk-reversal ●
What guarantee can you give with your offer that will help dissolve worries or doubts your prospect is having from following through your offer.
For example, if they don’t get their results in a time-frame you promised them, you can do:
money back guarantees pay only until i get you results Quite easy.
4 - Offer-stacking ●
Lastly we’ll be taking your offer and creating different packages or “tiers” that will help make aspects of your offer available to more people.
This is the principles of taking 1 offer and create more offers, products, or packages.
For example:
have an offer where you charge only for resources and not coaching calls turn 1 section of your program into a paid-product or a free lead-magnet have a free 30 clarity call - and use that to bring people onto your paid-offer From FREE all the way to PAID so there is a full customer journey here & value ladder here.
And will give more availability to your audience or clients with what offer works for THEM the most.
Start monetizing your passion Finally~ to give you a recap:
create your lite-offer know your dream-client-persona create your you-nique offer This will help you start actually turning your passion into something monetizable that people will actually pay you for.
Some of these things that I wrote down probably doesn’t make sense at first, nor you’ll take action immediately and that’s alright.
This isn’t meant to be done in a straight week.
So take your time - but also I’m making you accountable 😈
Also did I allude to a free offer-template where you can do all of this easily right?
Right?
So here you go :) Enjoy and please let me know, this is just a work-in-progress.
Now for the pitch (hes gonna say it now)
